Water for Two

Water for Two” is a unique therapeutic intervention course that is designed to support and enhance the parent-child relationships.   

This program was created by two experienced therapists, Yael Livneh and Hagit Kirshner-Shalom, who joined together to build an integrative modality of dyadic work using Water Play Therapy.  

Yael Livneh, an Art Expressive Therapist with over 20 years in the field, who developed the “Water Play Therapy” method.
and Hagit Kirshner-Shalom, a Psychologist, Accredited Play Therapist, Theraplay level 1 practitioner, and a Supervisor, will host this unique program live online.

A ‘Certification of participation’ of 12 academic hours will be provided.

About the course

The course integrates different methods, knowledge, and practices that together establish an innovative model for parent-child treatment. 

In this course, Yael and Hagit offer a unique Dyadic intervention using Water Play Therapy. The Water Play principles, which will be covered and expanded during the course, are the primary therapeutic tool and will be the lenses to view the parent-child connection.  

Learning Objectives

The course provides practical tools and working techniques for therapists who are working with families and children.
The joint Water Play will be utilized as a catalyst for the attachment process, building trust and communication, aiming to empower the dyadic bond.
The course will share a new way to observe, understand, and treat a dyadic relationship (parent-child) using this multifaceted tool.

The learning will be interactive, clips and demos will be shared to bring the learning to life; telehealth modification will be presented.

By the end of the course, the participants will be able to use this method with their relevant clienteles immediately*.

A course booklet will be shared with the participants.

About the presenters:

Hagit Kirshner-Shalom is a Psychologist and Accredited Play Therapist with vast experience in supporting children and families; Hagit offers individual, dyadic and group therapy as well as parent’s and professional’s workshops. Hagit works in a private clinic and international schools in Singapore. 

Play Therapy is the main passion of Hagit. She attained many certificates in the therapeutic field aiming to help parents and children heal and overcome their challenges: Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy, Theraplay Level 1 practitioner, Circle of Security™ Parenting facilitator, Filial Play Parent’s Coaching, and  Clinical Supervisor.

Yael Livneh is an Expressive Art therapist living in Israel. 

Yael is practising Psychodrama and inter-modality approaches over 20 years. Yael owns a private clinic and specialised in helping children with emotional difficulties.  

Yael developed the “Water Play Therapy” (WPT) method, which is an innovative therapy technique using water as the main therapeutic medium. The WPT is based on Play Therapy and Art Therapy techniques using colours, play objects, and storytelling. She published her book “Rising on Water” in 2015. 

Yael presents her method around the world to medical and educational staff in hospitals and universities; in addition, she trained teams in Africa and Asia through international organisations. Yael is an academic team member of “Ornim College” and supervisees therapists.
